Local residents and public officials gathered at the Richmond Hill park, located on Pearson Avenue, north of Highway 7and west of Yonge Street, to mark the opening of the town’s newest splash pad and newly renovated Morgan Boyle Park. In celebration of Canada’s 150th anniversary, visitors had the chance to experience the park’s specially-designed commemorative features including provincial symbols, lens rings, a flagpole, an entry feature wall and a shade structure with a roof that features 13 waves to symbolize Canada’s 10 provinces and three territories. At the grand opening, local children spent some energy enjoying the new playground and cooled off at the new splash pad, which has a special feature. The water play area captures the water to be reused to irrigate the soccer and softball fields.
